At Van Vliet Logistics in Zevenhuizen (South Holland), everything revolves around one thing: taking care of every transport need, with personal contact as the foundation. With a small team of twelve people, the company arranges transport for its customers across Europe every day.
“We specialise in road transport and make sure that everything, from small to large goods, is unloaded at the right destination,” says Mike de Jager, who works at Van Vliet Logistics.
IT is the fuel of our organisation
In logistics, efficiency is sacred. An outage can have major consequences. “If my email is not working, the whole organisation grinds to a halt,” says Mike. “Then we cannot arrange anything any more. That is why a good IT partner is indispensable.”
At Van Vliet, they know how big the difference is between a supplier and a partner. “We have had some less good moments too, but that is part of it. The most important thing is that problems are always solved, and they are. That gives us confidence.”

Van Vliet Logistics once worked with a different IT company. “Back then we did everything locally, because we did not want to be too dependent on the internet,” says Mike. “But that was actually holding us back. We wanted a modern working environment, and Interforce helped us a great deal with that.”
Since that switch, systems have been running more smoothly and securely. “Email, telephony, security: it is all properly set up now. And if something goes wrong, it is sorted out in no time.”
Quick to act, always reachable
In logistics, every minute counts. “If there is anything, I call or email and action is taken immediately. Especially when something is urgent, Interforce is ready straight away,” says Mike.
The personal contact also makes the difference for them. Mike previously worked with another IT partner, a one-man business. “They were often busy. At Interforce you notice that there are more people and resources, yet the contact remains very personal. They know me well by now, and whether I call or email, they always respond quickly and flexibly.”
Thinking along about solutions
For Mike, it is above all the way they think along that is valuable. “Recently I felt that some laptops were becoming too slow. Instead of immediately saying we had to replace everything, they came up with a solution to upgrade in phases. That saves an enormous amount in costs and works just as well.”
Interforce also looks at the long term. “They check whether the hardware and software are still good enough and advise on improvements. That way you stay prepared for the future.”
