Family, freight and trust: Doeleman Logistiek chooses Interforce
At Doeleman Logistiek, reliability and family have been at the core of everything for more than 75 years. The company is based in Waddinxveen. What started with a single lorry has grown into a business with two modern buildings and customers all over the world. Sander van Rijn has now been working at Doeleman for 20 years. He started out behind the wheel of a lorry himself and progressed via planning to head of the transport division.
“The challenge of the road, getting goods to customers on time: I loved that,” says Sander. “But later I discovered how enjoyable it is to close contracts, plan routes and see the bigger logistics picture. That is what still makes my work challenging today.”
Containers arriving from China are stored in Doeleman’s warehouses, after which the goods are shipped worldwide with partners such as DHL. The family business has thus grown from pure transport into a complete logistics organisation.
How IT keeps everything running
With that growth, a reliable IT partner became increasingly important. “We wanted to be able to log in remotely and work from several locations. We could no longer organise that ourselves,” says Sander. That is how they came to Interforce.
What matters most to him is certainty. “In logistics, IT must never be a weak link. If something goes wrong, it has to be fixed quickly. And it is. Sometimes things do not go entirely smoothly, but the most important thing is that in the end it always gets sorted.”
A down-to-earth partnership
The partnership works in a way that suits Doeleman well. “We are pragmatic people,” Sander explains. “We pay for a service and expect it to be properly taken care of. That is exactly what Interforce delivers. They think along with us, make sure we work securely and are there when we need them.”
Personal contact also remains important. “By now we know exactly who to call, and they always respond quickly. That builds trust.”
Looking ahead with confidence
The partnership with Interforce has not brought a big revolution, but it has brought peace of mind and continuity. “We do not have to worry about whether our systems are working or whether our security is in order. That confidence is enormously valuable to us,” says Sander.
And he is clear about the future: “We see no reason whatsoever to change this. Interforce grows along with us and remains a partner we can build on.”
