EZ-base is the central product database for the construction industry. With 2 million records covering items such as hardware and tools, it is a major player in this market. The database collects product information from suppliers. Specialist retailers, in turn, can use the database to feed their webshops or catalogues, for example.
Ron van den Bosch, managing director of EZ-base, came into contact with Interforce when they were looking for a new website. “We started talking and one thing led to another.” Ron discovered Interforce’s versatility, and this prompted the use of Cloud Application for EZ-base’s services.
EZ-base was facing challenges because of the closed hosting system it was using at the time. What mattered most to Ron and his team was having more control over the database hosting, more flexibility, speed and scalability. Interforce took care of migrating the servers to the Cloud Application environment. Together with the software supplier, EZ-base managed to separate the database’s various functions so that each server could have its own role. For example, there is now one server dedicated solely to exports and a web server for displaying products. In this way, EZ-base and Interforce together make sure the database works as efficiently as possible. Everything comes together on the fast cloud storage environment, from which the various servers and functions can all retrieve their data.
